RE: Firearms??

I will travel anywhere in the US I want to with my weapon(s). I will not disclose it to anyone unless required by the current state law in which I am travelling upon presentation of proper credentials.
The worst I can be charged with is a misdemeanor. We can argue about that after the fact. I may be arrested, I may lose my weapon but at least I and my family will be alive.
If you see my gun.... it's the last thing you will ever see.

RE: Black Holding Tank

We're a firm believer in "treating" our tanks every trip. We've never had a problem with smell or fumes even camping in 100 degree plus weather. We use Happy Campers Odorless Holding Tank Treatment. We are extremely happy with the product and have been using it for over two years now.
I second this reccomendation, HappyCamper an excellent product that works as advertised. I dump when full (every third trip) and use a single scoop between dumps, never an odor and no chemical smells either.
Met the developer of the product in a campground in Oregon and still using the samples he gave me. When time to buy more Happycamper is what I will be using.

RE: Are we unreasonable? Recent Camping experience...

If you don't like "Plan-B" you could initiate "Plan-C".
If you have a diesel, fire it up and let it idle all day. Provided your exhaust points in the disturbing camper's direction. And/or, fire up your generators.
When he complains that you're smoking him out, or making too much noise, tell him, "well now you know how I feel." Tell him to keep his kids on his side of the camp spot and to please keep the noise down within reason.
There are many people that don't give a hoot about how much noise or disturbance they create with their neighbors (you).
Good Luck.
I'll put my noisy kids up against your 4.50/gal diesel motor anyday of the week... my kids run all day on $.30 worth of sugar. Couple of 'smores and a popsicle and they can go all night long.

RE: People are ignorant

Last year our first trip of the season we were in a CG and our spot was mixed within the seasonal folks and all weekend long you smelled burning leaves from them cleaning up their sites after the fall. We won't be making that mistake again!
I agree, some people are just beyond rude and selfish. Either that or they're complete morons.
RV parks with seasonal sites are called "trailer courts" where I come from. You get what you pay for.

RE: People are ignorant

Regarding the "one way" issue
I was put in a pull through this weekend that I could not get out of due to the location of trees and the length of my combo. Once in, the owner of the park warned me of the situation. suggested I back in and proceed the wrong way out as it was easiest for everyone involved. All you rule mongers need to lighten up, its only camping for most of us. Its not like someones getting on the interstate the wrong direction.

RE: People are ignorant

I've been physically restrained from getting out and "talking" with folks at dump stations before when they're doing that. I DID park in front of one guy and wouldn't let him leave until he cleaned up the mess. He started honking his horn and inching toward me and I just ignored him. He finally got the hint and cleaned up the dump station then I backed out of his way.
Sounds like you have control issues.
You may be proud of what you did. Stupid and proud aren't a good combination though.

RE: Equalizer bars flopping around

Someone installed the pin wrong and your hitch isn't torqued properly if the bar was flopping around.... if your truly talking about a equalizer brand hitch..... or are you talking about a generic wd hitch?
can you post a picture of the bent L pin?

RE: What to say if people are jealous?

What's jealousy got to do with it. Your either legal or your not. Instead of wondering why not just go weigh your combo and be done with it. IF your not legal your co-workers could be right.
btw, there is no correalation between the HP of your truck and your ability to tow safely within the tow ratings.
I got a 20$ bill that says when loaded your overweight.
Maybe this will help

RE: Refrigerator Tie-Down?

thanks for the positive feedback wayne. Just an FYI... I've handled 53' rigs (trucks) before, not that there exactly the same, but I think I will learn and there are plenty of campgrounds that handle a 40' travel trailer, 42' with hitch. I did my research before I bought it and the campgrounds that I want to go to handle them.. just takes a phone call to see. The weight of the trailer is just over 10,000 pounds dry, the 2005 F350 diesel can handle 15,000 pounds, so I think I'm fine there. Not that my experience was the question here or my truck or the campgrounds. The question was about the tie-downs.
the U bracket sounds like a great idea though thanks.
Only the DRW can handle 15K and it requires a 2.5" reciever to do so. The rest are limited to 12.5K

RE: Refrigerator Tie-Down?

Well... actually its titled as a travel trailer. They added the black and gray tanks and a 3rd axle since we were going to be moving it more. We understand that we got a huge trailer here, but figured we need the comfort if were doing this full time. What is the big issue anyway for a park model vs. a travel trailer? Seems like its just the black and grey tanks and maybe length.
The simple fact that the fridge is not built in and the need to add tanks and a 3rd axle should clue you in that they are probably not built to handle being moved on a regular basis. Personally If you plan on towing it much I'd reconsider this decision.

Ruger 380 LCP

Looking for a new carry weapon and recently came accoss the new Ruger .380LCP. Look exactly like what I am looking for in a pocket gun or as a backup weapon
Anyone have any first hand experience with this new model? Similar to the kel-tec p3at but ruger made. Seems to have good review for a lite weight pocket model. Seems perfect for summer ccp
Looking for a WA dealer with one in hand. Ready to buy. CC permit holder will take home today.
Any dealers in WA have one in stock?

RE: Price of fuel

I'm glad to see fuel rising. Hopefully it gets to the point where some of the idiots driving, talking on there cell phone, putting on makeup, reading a book won't be able to afford drive for entertainment anymore.
Do I like paying more for fuel? NO. But I see the same amount of traffic with one person in the car driving as fast as they can to hit starbucks and wait in line for there 6$ latte.... as long as that is happening it is going to keep rising. Might as well get used to it..
4.49 diesel in my little local station. What pisses me off is the tax WA st collects which is a percentage of the base fuel price instead of a fixed fee..

RE: which is the warmest factory four seasons travel trailer?

Very happy with the Arctic Fox as well. We camped all year this season and rarely used the propane heat. Just a small electric space heater. Quite a difference from our last trailer which was like camping in a tent.

RE: Where to store fishing poles while travelling

Seriously, you own 90K worth of trucks and a 30K trailer and your asking how to store a fishing pole while travelling. Are you for reel.....(punny, get it)
RustySocket, Yes I do own 90K worth of trucks and a 30K fifth wheel and yes I was seriously asking how people store their fishing poles. I don't want anything to damage my 30K trailer. And yes I am "for reel" - I don't ask questions jokingly and I don't give (many) funny answers.

RE: Setting EQ hitch with air suspension Tow Vehicle

I believe the correct way is to disengage the air system until the trailer is properly set up.
As a previous expy owner that is the correct way to do it.
